Light of Christmas: A Guardians of Light short
It was once again Christmas, a time of joy, warmth, kindness…and especially hope. This Christmas was no different for one particular time, as everyone on Earth prepared for the night. Some were in charge of the decorations, others for the snacks and music, and most of them just enjoyed the event as a way of reuniting and sharing love. But from all of those people, there were very special people in this story. You see, these weren’t just ordinary people, hidden in an enchanted forest was the legendary Guardians of Light. Heroes born from a call to maintain not only the hope for the world, but also for inspiring others to find their own destiny and purpose. Their heroic actions were nothing less than legends heard from around the world, as the brave Guardians would not stand down for the sake of their mission. They were getting ready for a christmas party they were having later on, Vinicius tied up some ribbons. “Feels good to spend the holidays with my fellow Guardian friends” Vinicius sighed in joy. “It felt like a long time ago, and here we are, again!” Marsa answered, preparing some ornaments. Adara spun around in joy in a pink and red sparkly christmas dress, excited for the holidays as always. “I can’t wait to join everyone in the party! I have so much to tell them, and I wanna give some good dance moves!” She said. “Of course you will, sister! Don’t forget about me, too! I got a surprise at midnight, something to light up the sky!” Flamuna added. Infinmenti was finishing her novel, putting the last details both in the words and in the drawings decorating it. “I bet everyone will like this special story! Fit for the occasion! What do you say, Nithya?” She said. “Definitely, Infi! This one will be in the history books, and who knows, a prize for inspiration, right Oni?” Nithya added, as Onireon was preparing some cookies and shaping them with his magic. “I know it, sis! They would be glad of your talent!” He answered. “You just wait until I get these little ones done, and you will enjoy my special cookie recipe!” He said.Tacro and Aadhya were busy doing their own thing, helping with the Christmas tree. “And there it goes! It just needed some good lights and shine to stand by!” Tacro started. “And I know what those perfect lights are gonna be!” Aadhya exclaimed, creating some blue, cyan, and violet mini-stars and spreading them out all over the tree, making it look like something magical. “Aadhya, that was something amazing…THIS IS MARVELOUS!” Tacro awed in amazement. “You never doubted me for a moment, Tacro” Aadhya giggled. “And I would never, my starry love. Together to the end of times” Tacro answered. The Earth Family was doing their own thing: making wreaths and placing them in the center of their workplace. “This is such fun! Look how beautiful our wreaths resulted!” Sudaniel laughed, adding some berries and flowers at one of his ornaments. “We should add them at each door of the rooms! Maybe with some manes attached to them” Terradeus said, adjusting his own wreath. “What do you say, grandma? Should we do it?” Giskrilli asked. “It could make for a great detail, I agree! They would love to see something that would make them happy” Terravine laughed, making some final touches to her ornament before putting it to the center. “I think these are enough for now. What if we hang them in the doors?” She asked, everyone agreeing and joining her.Meanwhile with the Water family, they were setting stage on the ice skating rink they were making. “Hey, Dad! Check this out!” Oceumbra said, testing the rink with some good moves. “I think this is one of our best projects!” Neroskia got one the ice as he did some moves as well. “Look at the sculptures I did, family! These are us, the others are from my family, and the others are the Guardians!” Coralmaline laughed, using her powers to create ice statues of the members of the hut. Posedian and Searia stood next to the rink, enjoying the night. “Another year together, my love. And look at our children, they are growing so fast…” Posedian sighed. “I couldn’t agree more, my Posedian” Searia exclaimed. Christian was making paper snowflakes and enchanting them with his own magic. “These will be perfect!” He exclaimed as he hugged his wolf plush. “And imagine all the gifts we will share, even if being feelings! That’s what Christmas is about!” He celebrated. Glacieolon and Robyame looked at their child in joy. “You are correct about that, our child, this will be extra special!” Glacieolon exclaimed, focusing his magic in making a soft snow hail that would decorate the hut without becoming a storm. “Almost everyone will be here! From families to every people! It will be a great party!” Robyame added, summoning an aurora that made the snowy sky more vibrant and colorful.Meanwhile Araiser, the young god, was excited about the whole event. Despite still being a novice in the celebration since his recent life on Earth, he would be the most dedicated to help and make the party something to remember. “I may be still learning about the holiday, but that won’t stop me from making this one a night to remember!” He cheered, making golden garlands with decorations symbolizing each of the Guardians. “I can see everything else is ready, or on the go! I could visit the others to see what they are doing!” He said. And visit the others the lightning god did as he went out, he first went to visit Vinicius and Marsa, whose task was at the verge of getting done.“Hey, Vini, hey, brother! The decorations look so good! This would be the best thing we ever made!” He said. “Thanks! It took a lot of work but we are almost done!” Vinicius exclaimed. “And just in time. The guests will come in five minutes! I’m glad we did it!” Marsa said. The doorbell rang, Adara ran quickly to the door. “GOT IT!” She beamed, opening the door for the first guests to arrive at the party. “Merry Christmas!” She said to them. “Welcome guys!” Vinicius exclaimed in joy as the guests made their way to the hut, not before hugging the heroes. “Hi, Guardians! Merry Christmas!” One of them said. The other guardians then arrived at the scene. “Hey, the guests have arrived!” Onireon exclaimed. “Bring the music on, Adara!” Flamuna cheered. “Already on it!” The younger Flame sister said, her phone connected to the hut’s speakers and playing some good tunes to amenize the party. Everyone cheered as they enjoyed the dancing and music, some of them going to the marvelous skating rink. “Remember, play safe and enjoy the game!” Coralmaline said as she helped guests get ready before starting their skating round. Everyone was having a good time, they danced, they skated, they enjoyed the music. Infinmeti read her novel and everyone enjoyed it. The Earth family was able to give out their wreaths and everyone admired them. The skating rink was a success as everyone had fun, even though there were a few tumbles, Everyone enjoyed the cookies Onireon made. Everyone was enchanted of the background around him, and The Psychic family was proud, everything was magical…and it was going to get even better. Minutes before the great moment, everyone was gathered in the main room of the hut, some sharing photos and videos of their experiences with their friends, others having a good chat with the Guardians, and others just enjoying the fun. “I will never forget the day that we changed our ways, it was a liberating experience for us” Marsa said. “And it started when my sis here, Flamuna, had a change of heart. And I understood her, it was time to say enough was enough…” Adara complimented. “Forever be in my heart will be the day you saved me from Ombrabane” Araiser started. “If it wasn’t for you, I would have still be in the limbo!” He added. “Anything for our no longer lost brother!” Tacro said. “And you have living life at best after those events! Look at you, celebrating Christmas with us!” He giggled. Vinicius laughed in joy, as he enjoyed some soft drinks with his colleagues. “We made some good friends during the years, even unexpected ones” He said. “I hope we do it again this year!” Coralmaline beamed. “I just want to know new friends to invite here for everything! And they can meet my school pals too!” She said. “Everything can happen these days. And we must be ready, whatever it is!” Posedian answered. Vinicius nodded in determination and hope, before checking on the clock and hearing the bells announcing the last minute before Christmas.“Everyone, be ready! The great moment is about to arrive!” He exclaimed, as the guests and Guardians started gathering around and ready to receive Christmas. “EEE! I can’t wait!” Adara cheered. “Last ten seconds! Ten! Nine! Eight!” Flamuna started. “Seven! Six!” Terradeus and Giskrilli continued. “Five! Four!” Tacro and Aadhya said. “Three! Two!” The Tenenra Children exclaimed. “One!” Vinicius finished. The clock bell rang loudly, and the music changed to a more commemorative tone. Everyone started shaking hands and hugging each other, forgiving any obstacles or quarrels of past and just for that day being more united. Flamuna nodded as she raised her hand, her hair illuminating. The sky above the hut started shining better with colorful fireworks of various patterns and Christmas-like colors, the entire audience looking at the transparent ceiling window and enjoying the spectacle. “Woaaaaaah” Coralmaline whispered in amaze. “The colors of wishes of hope and love around us…” Robyame said. “Christmas is the time of sharing, the time of uniting as one…That’s what it is about” Vinicius finished. Everyone nodded in agreement to Vini’s words, as they continued watching the show while some of them hummed cheerful melodies. “A time of hope, as we always need it” Vinicius said, holding hands with his Guardian friends. Another Christmas from many had already arrived. And the Guardians, as the symbols of hope they were, were enjoying it at the best. Because what would be better than a time to share and forgive, and just uniting as one by the holidays? As all hearts deserve to have a heart of hope on the holidays. (END)
